We have tried to provide as much information as possible in this statement,  if you do have any queries please call us on 01208 831481.  We look forward to welcoming you. Whilst we aim to meet the needs of all our guests, there are some period features which might make access difficult for people with limited mobility.

 

Our local village of Lanivet is 2 miles away, and has a village store selling fruit, groceries, papers etc and also has a cash point and is open everyday from approx 7am - 10pm.  There is also a post office, public house serving meals, fish and chip shop, Church and Methodist Chapel, and hairdressers. The town of Bodmin is located 5 miles away with banks, shooping centre and pharmacy. There are 3 out of town supermarkets, Morrisons, Sainsbury and Asda.

 

Pre-Arrival

 

  • We are happy to discuss any individual requirements you may need during your stay. Our website provides photographs and information of our accommodation.
  • Bookings/Enquiries can be be made by email or phone.  Please see bookings and contact us pages.
  • Our peaceful rural location means that methods of public transport are very limited.  The nearest bus stop is in the village of Lanivet, 2 miles away.  Buses run hourly and the service stops early in the evening. 
  • The nearest train station Bodmin Parkway is approx 6 miles away, there are usually taxis at the station, but we can always book for you in advance if required. 
  • There are several local taxi firms:  We can make bookings in advance for you.

 

Arrival

 

  • The Farmhouse is accessible from a parish road down a concrete drive.
  • The farm has brown tourism signage from just off the A30.
  • Parking for the Farmhouse is on a level car parking area adjacent to the house.Parking for the B/B Barn is on a paved area in front of the Barn.
  • We are always happy to offer assistance with luggage.

 

Public Area - General  (Internal)

 

  • Decor is light walls with natural wooden doors.
  • The hallway leads into the lounge/dining room which leads into the conservatory. 
  • In the conservatory there is a door which leads to the garden.
  • There are stairs, 80cms wide with the tread being 22 cms deep and 19 cms high with a handrail up to the first floor.  The stairs are carpeted.
  • In the farmhouse there are 2 guest bedrooms on the first floor, and one on the ground floor.  This is an annexe room adjacent to the farmhouse. 
  • In the Barn there is one bedroom on the ground floor and one on the first floor.  (Please see the section 'Bedrooms' for more information)
  • There is a folder in each bedroom containing further information about the farm, and details of emergency contacts including doctors and hospitals.
  • The farmhouse is centrally throughout - temperatures can be adjusted to suit individual requirements. 
  • WiFi is available in the farmhouse, and there are flat screen TVs in all bedrooms, and the sittingroom.

 

Dining Room/Sitting Room and Conservatory

 

  • Guests are welcome to use these rooms at anytime. 
  • The rooms are carpeted and there is an open fire for cold weather.
  • The sitting room has a sofa and 3 armchairs.  This room has a television.
  • The conservatory has a cane sofa and 2 cane chairs with arms, also dining tables and chairs for breakfast.
  • There is a selection of local information, maps, menus of local restaurants and guide books and walking information.
  • Breakfast is served in the dining room and conservatory.

 

Bedrooms (General)

 

  • All bedrooms are ensuite.The farmhouse bedrooms have a shower, WC and a handbasin.  The Barn rooms have a shower, bath, WC and handbasin.
  • The bedrooms are carpeted, and the ensuites have washable flooring.  There are flat screen TVs in all bedrooms.  
  • Tea and coffee facilities in the bedrooms and fresh milk and water are left in the fridge and replenished daily.  We also provide a hairdryer, electric alarm clock/radio, torch and a selection of magazines and local information.
  • Our beds are normally made with duvets (feather and down) synthetic duvets/pillows or sheets and blankets are available if preferred - please specify before your arrival if required.
  • There is a wardrobe, 2 bedside cabinets, dressing table, chest of drawers and chair in each room. 
  • The ground floor farmhouse  bedroom and the 2 barn bedrooms contain 6ft superking zip and link beds (with access from both sides) which can easily be converted into two 3ft single beds.  One of the farmhouse first floor bedrooms has a king size bed and the other farmhouse room has a double and a single bed
  • Fridges are on farmhouse landing, in the groundfloor farmhouse room and in the hallway of the Barn.
  • All rooms are fitted with smoke detectors

 

Grounds and Gardens

 

  • We have a large garden with lawns, shrubs and flower beds.
  • Guests are very welcome to enjoy our garden at all times.
  • Access to the garden is via the conservatory and parking area.

 

Outdoor Facilities

 

  • We will gladly show our guests around the farm. The ground may be uneven and slippery in some places. Its a good idea to bring your wellies. The Highland Cattle can usually be seen from the farm driveway.
  • We have an excellent childrens play area including swings, climbing farme with slide and a trampoline. Access is from the chipping drive. The surface of the play area is flat grass area which is regularly mown. Safety notices are displayed in a large clear font.

 

Additional Information

 

  • There are fire extinguishers in the kitchen and at the top of the stairs.
  • The farmhouse can be evacuated via the front door or via the conservatory door.
  • We do not permit smoking in the farmhouse or the barn.
  • The Fire Assembly Point is locatated in the yard area, near the parking area.
  • Mobile phone reception at Bokiddick is generally good, however reception in the village of Lanivet can be limited.
  • We are happy to cater for special diets or likes/dislikes. Please advise us before your arrival.
